Well Put

Terms of service

Last updated October 23, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Digital Darwin LLC for using the Well Put app and website. By using the app you accept them.

What the service is

Well Put helps you learn vocabulary from standardized-test word lists: a word of the day, flashcards with spaced repetition, quizzes, and short video clips of the words in use. It is a study aid. We do not promise any particular test score.

Your account

  • An account is optional. It exists to copy your progress between devices.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create one.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the app. Deletion is permanent.

Acceptable use

Do not use Well Put to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
  • copy, scrape or redistribute the word content or the usage index, or probe, overload or interfere with the service;
  • share access with others or resell the service.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Content

The definitions, examples, etymologies, mnemonics and other text in Well Put are owned by Digital Darwin LLC and licensed to you for personal study. Video clips are embedded from YouTube and remain the property of their owners; playing them is subject to YouTube's terms of service. We select clips for clear usage of a word and do not endorse the videos or their creators. If you own a video and want it removed from our index, email us.

Paid features

Some features require a Pro subscription purchased through the App Store or Google Play. Prices and terms are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and are managed through your store account settings. Refunds are handled by the store under its policies.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee it. The app keeps working offline, but sync, pack updates and video clips need our servers and YouTube. We may change, pause or discontinue features, word lists or the service itself. If we discontinue the service we will give reasonable notice where we can.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Digital Darwin LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas.
